Definition

Personal use of company time or property is prohibited by company policy.

Purpose

Company time and property are to be used for the generation of income to the company.

Guidelines

- Personal use of company time and property or forcing another employee to do so is prohibited.
- Conducting business on behalf of another firm or individual is prohibited.
- Using company property for personal business during off-duty hours is prohibited.
- The company, when possible, accommodates an employee’s need to conduct personal
  business during working hours.

Obligation and Responsibility to Report Unethical Conduct

All employees are responsible for reporting any known case of the personal use of company time or property


- Responsibility : Personal use of company time or forcing another employee to use company time for personal use is prohibited by company policy and subjects the employee to disciplinary action. The direct manager of the employee causing such an event shall be equally disciplined. If the employee instructed to use company time in the pursuit of another employee’s personal interests was unable to refuse the request, and such inability is proven, the employee will not be subject to disciplinary action.


- Penalty : The discipline level for violation of company policy regarding personal use of company time will be based upon the degree of severity.
