Hynix 2Gb DDR3 based 16GB RDIMM (Registered Dual Inline memory module) has been officially validated by Intel on its next generation server platform. This high density, high-performance module is designed for high end server applications and operates at 1066 Megabits per second (Mbps) with 1DIMM/channel & 800 Megabits with 2DIMMs/channel respectively. Hynix also offers a 1.35V power supply option which reduces power consumption by approximately 20% over the standard 1.5V.
The validation of this product will provide Hynix with a competitive advantage in designing high density modules in emerging high end server platforms.
