Hynix Semiconductor has started mass production of 2Gb DDR3(x16) for Graphics Applications from March 2010.
This is the first 44nm DRAM product to go into production in the industry. It boasts high performance of up to 1GHz and 30% lower power consumption than the previous generation 54nm 2Gb DDR3.
An estimated 60% of graphics market in 2010 will comprise of DDR3 (x16) products. The 44nm 2Gb DDR3 will provide the density and speed to enable graphics applications in notebooks, as well as high performance workstations and desktops.
